Joshua 7-8

So today my church had this really fun "Walk Through The Bible" Seminar!! It was amazing... but I spent most of the day back in the children's wing keeping the nursery, and was only able to squeeze in a couple chapters of Joshua!

I am definitely enjoying my own personal "walk" through the Bible, but I sometimes wish I could "run"... and this time it's not because I am ready to get it over with, but because I want to find out what happens.

It's a really, REALLY good book. I've always known it was important, but I've never loved it like I do now.

Joshua 7-8 left me wondering what it is in my own life that is devoted to destruction; I need to find it and cut it out before it gets too late...

Joshua Chapters 1-6

This week I started reading the book of Joshua (the sixth book of the Bible)! The following verses really stood out to me, so I overlaid the text over five different edited versions of the same photo... which was a dreamy outtake from a photo shoot I did earlier this week for a sweet, sweet family from church. (Lyren and family, you are the best!) I also found the story of the rocks in Joshua Chapter 4 to be really interesting, especially since the clock is divided into 12 hours and time really seems to be paramount these days.

Deuteronomy (The Death of Moses)

Today I finished reading the book of Deuteronomy (Chapters 7-34)... It's really starting to get good, folks. Parts of the story so sweetly sad (the death of Moses), parts hilarious (deut. ch. 25 and the story of the removed sandal... seriously picturing this kind of scene in a movie), parts terrifying (the curses for not obeying), and parts so wonderful (the promises of blessings)... I am really starting to see the Bible as more of a page-turner than a historical document. It's really good. And frightening. And incredible. All at the same time.

Hmm.

Reminds me of someone.
