Proverbs

I wore a lovely hat and pretty necklace to church today. It rained, and my hat and necklace seemed bright and happy against the greyness of the sky.

I came home to do my Bible project and immediately stumbled upon these words:

"My child, obey the teachings of your parents, and wear their teachings as you would a lovely hat or a pretty necklace." Proverbs 1:8-9

We must wear our wisdom and our faith as if they were bright, shining necklaces and beautiful, lovely hats... And then they will shine into the darkness. :)

A few more selections from my reading that I absolutely loved were:
"Singing to someone in deep sorrow is like pouring vinegar in an open cut." Proverbs 25:20

"Good news from far away refreshes like cold water when you are thirsty." Proverbs 25:25

"Don't eat too much honey or always want praise." Proverbs 25:27

"Gold and silver are tested in a red-hot furnace, but we are tested by praise." Proverbs 27:20

"But you must defend those who are helpless and have no hope." Proverbs 31:8

"With her own hands she gladly makes clothes." Proverbs 31:13

"And she always works hard." Proverbs 31:17

"She does her own sewing, and everything she wears is beautiful." Proverbs 31:22

Psalm 63-73

God has a plan.

He never forsakes me. Not ever.

God has given me such a wonderful family... and an amazing church family, too. The people at Cleburne Bible Church are so wonderful and so welcoming and so sweet to me. I've been part of CBC since before I was born, but it just keeps getting better.

Still missing my Granny, I went to church this morning to find that my Sunday School class was filled with little girls in polka dots and bows. There were three of them, and not a single one wanted to leave. I can't blame them: I didn't want to leave either. It made me remember how my Granny didn't want to leave, either.

But God has a plan. He fills in the gaps. Psalm 68:6 reads, "You find families for those who are lonely." A friend from church made a special gluten-free chocolate pie, just for me.

I am constantly amazed at what God has done in my life, and I hope that everything I do makes Him smile.

Psalm 70:30 "I will praise the Lord God with a song and a thankful heart."
Psalm 71:14 "I will never give up hope or stop praising you."
Psalm 71:28 "Let me tell future generations about your mighty power."
Psalm 73:28 "It is good for me to be near you. I choose you as my protector, and I will tell about your wonderful deeds."
